Even though it is early in 2018, planning and preparations are underway for the next school year. For our grade 9’s, tours are bring arranged for visits and orientation sessions at both Fort Richmond Collegiate (FRC) on February 20 and Vincent Massey Collegiate (VMC) on February 22, 2018. Students will receive registration packages and will be given guidance on their registration for credits. Staff teams from both high schools will be spending time at HGI to assist during this process.
It is important for families in our neighborhood to check their catchment high school for grade 10 registration. Students living in Whyte Ridge may register at VMC or FRC. Students living in Bridgwater register at FRC. Student who are attending HGI on a school of choice application must register at their catchment school or submit another school of choice application (and be accepted) for the next school. Our grade 8’s will be registering for their first year of high school credits at HGI grade 9. HGI administration will be visiting grade 8 classes and providing students with an information overview. The registration packages for grade 9 will be distributed on February 12th and the information will be available online. The family information evening about the registration process for HGI’s grade 9 program and the credit options offered will be held at HGI on February 15 at 7:00 p.m. in our gym.
