Roles and responsibilities
Soccer director – represents the program at the Board of Directors. The main responsibility is making sure there is a functional team of volunteers needed to run all soccer programs: youth soccer, mini-soccer, soccer camps and so on. The soccer director also manages the program’s budget which includes revenue from registrations and expenses related to maintenance and equipment, field and gym permits. The soccer director will be required to attend district and league meetings to represent the program to the various soccer organizations like WSEU, WYSA, MSA etc.
Mini-soccer director – operates the mini soccer (ages 3-8) program in Whyte Ridge. The main responsibility is making sure there is a functional team of volunteers needed to run the mini-soccer program(s). The mini-soccer director reports to the Soccer director and keeps track of the program’s expenses. The mini-soccer director will be required to attend internal meetings within the Whyte Ridge soccer team.
Equipment managers – look after the equipment for the mini soccer (ages 3-8) or youth soccer (ages 9-18) as well as the fields where games and practices are held. The responsibilities include making sure that the soccer equipment is ready before the start of the season, distributing it to the team coaches, collecting and storing it in the storage at the end of the season, soccer nets replaced as need and fields marked properly. For youth soccer, the equipment manager will also be responsible for ordering new uniform kits for each team hosted by Whyte Ridge. Equipment managers report to the Soccer director and keep track of the program’s expenses related to field maintenance and the equipment.

Convener (youth and mini) – is mainly responsible to help with the registration process, finding coaches and facilitating their certification, forming teams and assigning players to team’s rosters. Youth soccer convener reports to the Soccer director and mini-soccer convener reports to the Mini-soccer director. Youth soccer convener will be required to attend internal meetings within the Whyte Ridge soccer team as well as inner district meetings with WSEU Recreational community clubs.
