I’m not sure about you, but I was not ready for winter to start so soon this year. I’m sure the kids are excited to get out and play in the snow, and the adults are already tired of shoveling, but it’s here, and I think it’s here to stay. With everything that has happened in the world over the past few months though, this isn’t so bad.
I am very excited to let you know that our Community Centre has started an initiative to get our youth more involved in the things that happen at our club. We have started a Jr. Board. This is for the kids in and around Whyte Ridge between 12 & 17 years of age. We want our Jr. Board to help our adult board come up with ideas to get not only the youth in our community involved, but people of all ages. We always hear the saying that our kids are the future. Well, our kids are here now, and they have fresh ideas that we don’t think of. I encourage your kids to get involved with the Jr. Board. Learning to work with other kids their age, and being put into leadership roles will give them life skills that will help in their future endeavours. All the best this winter!
