Game Design – Racing Games!

What’s more fun than playing video games? Designing them!

Prepare for some fast splashing fun as we use the Engineering Design Process to design and create our very own racing game to race our personally designed hydrocrafts! We will create a storyboard to identify and capture the rules of play and characters for our game, and then use Clickteam Fusion 2.5® to bring our storyboard to life with programming. At the end of the unit, everyone takes home a working Windows-compatible game.

Get a solid foundation in coding and programming, learning how to use conditional loops, variables, active objects and sprites! The FUN doesn’t stop here, keep your skills sharp with our take-home program. Play & build from home!

Building Cities!

Build a city from the ground up!

In Building Cities Camp, students will explore civil, electrical, industrial, and environmental engineering. They will explore energy production, filtering of water filtration, and building structures.

Cities are incredible feats of engineering. Giant skyscrapers made of steel and glass soars thousands of feet into the air. Cities began to form when farmers were able to make more food than they could eat, allowing other people to take up trades. Ancient cities were built to bring people together for protection, to promote trade, and improve efficiency. Over time, centralizing government, having art and culture centers, and bringing industries together to improve productivity all became key in development of cities. While many cities have developed over hundreds or even thousands of years, in modern times some cities, like Songdo in South Korea, are being built from the ground up in a very short time. Students will take up the role of a team of city planners, looking to design the best city in the world from the ground up.

Magic is Science

In this camp, students will explore some of the science behind illusions and magic. We’ll look at how previously unexplained phenomena can now be explained by modern discoveries and technology.

Students will walk away with some tricks of their own to take home and continue experimentation.

Programming and Robotics – Ocean Missions & Olympics!

This LEGO® Robotics: Ocean Missions curriculum is designed to introduce students to the world of robotics in an interesting and engaging way. The goal is to teach students about the building and programming aspects of robotics as it relates to real-world issues in ocean exploration.

This Robotics: Olympics curriculum will introduce students to the concepts of building and programming robots in a competitive and fun way.

3D Printing: Minecraft Creations

3D printing and Minecraft both represent boundless opportunity for creating even our wildest of ideas! In 3D Printing: Minecraft Creations, students will explore the basic concepts of 3D printing and computer-aided design, or CAD, to bring their most awesome Minecraft creation to life! Students will take their Minecraft design out of the world of Minecraft and learn how to extrude it into a 3D model that can then be modified to be printed in 3D.

Forensic Investigators

Become a forensics engineer and help Kelvin find out who stole the blueprints for his secret, new design. Using principles of investigative science and forensic engineering, students will analyze evidence in the simulated crime scene using math, science, and technology. Embark on a new journey each day to decipher cryptic clues and biological codes, and help us identify the thief through chemical and mechanical analysis. Time is running out, and Kelvin needs your help!

App Development with BitsBox Camp

Create your own App!

App design has exploded over the past 5 years due to lower costs and easier access to essential tools, so give your engineer the knowledge to stay ahead in today’s technological society. With Bitsbox, we’re offering a unique experience in which campers get to code in JavaScript, test, and create their own apps in real-time using an easy-to-understand format. The best part about this week is that they’ll be able to save their created apps right to their (or your own) devices for play anywhere, anytime!

Amazing Race – Engineering of Travel

111 years ago airplanes had not even made their first flight, yet today we can fly to the other side of the world in 12 hours! It is thanks to advances in technology that we are able to explore so much of the world. Over the next five days teams will have to work together to see who is able to travel the farthest around the world. This trek around the world will require students to design their very own boat, plane, and even a rocket!

Juniors Camps (Ages 4- 7)

Agent of Travel

Pack your bags and let’s map out our trip around the world!

Over 100 years ago, airplanes had not even made their first flight, yet today we can fly to the other side of the world in 12 hours! Over the next five days, teams will work together to see who can travel the farthest around the world.

This trip around the world will require students to design their very own cars, planes, and even a ROCKET!

Our camps give students a meaningful, hands-on introduction to the fundamentals of engineering and design-thinking methodology; challenging them to collaborate with their fellow campers to create solutions to real-world problems.

Junior Makers and Engineers!

The young adventurers will discover the fascinating world of engineering as they are challenged to create various builds using the engineering design process.

Our young campers will design their own operation game, build cool toys, discover the wonders of chemical engineering and more!

Campers will explore, and experiment to further and deepen their own learning. Design thinking, problem-solving, and collaboration are emphasized.

The sky’s the limit when you bring your imagination to the table!

Jr. LEGO Robotics

Our young camper will play and learn with Lego WeDo and get a unique opportunity to revive the prehistoric world!

We introduce children to the classification of dinosaurs, when they lived, why they disappeared, the periods of the prehistoric world and more. Give your children an unforgettable camp journey into the prehistoric world of dinosaurs!

Under Construction

Put on your hard hats engineers and join us for our The Engineering of Cities! In this camp, students work hard to apply their knowledge of construction to save the beach from erosion and build their very own city from the ground up. From roads and tunnels to buildings and skyscrapers, students discover that no job’s too tough for an Engineering for Kids engineer!

Medieval Defence

Do you have what it takes to defend your castle and maintain your family’s honor? If so, then don your armor and draw your sword for The Engineering of Medieval Times. In this camp, students build their very own castle and then work to defend it by engineering canons and catapults. Become a knight and join us on the question for glory and justice!

Re-engineering Fairy Tales

Ever wonder how we got to the Happily Ever After in traditional fairy tales? Students will explore a few fairy tales from different points of view and engage in activities to investigate solutions for each fairy tale’s obstacles. In the Twisted Fairy Tales Camp, we will design a getaway vehicle for the heroine from Kate and the Beanstalk, help The Three Billy Goats Fluff devise a method to cross the bridge quietly and not wake the Troll, and construct an edible reef entirely from candy to protect The Three Little Fish from the Big Bad Shark! Join us as we explore the Engineering of Fairy Tales!

Pirate Academy

Arg Matey! Come join Kelvin’s crew as we sail the ocean blue searching for buried treasure. Join us as students build their very own pirate ship, go fishing for treasure, and work together in Kelvin’s crew to create a delicious treat that is more precious than gold. Hop aboard the Green Ghost and set sail as we explore The Engineering of Pirates!
