Hello Whyte Ridge,
Summer has passed so quickly this year! I hope that you were able to spend time with family and friends once restrictions were lessened. As we return to a new ‘normal’, we are excited to let everyone know that the club is once again open for rentals and sports registrations will be soon announced.
The WRCC Board is focusing on revitalizing our community centre and we welcome the input and assistance of the community. One of our priorities is repairing our ice rinks. Repairs of the gates will take place in September. The west rink has been sanded and painted, and repairs of the east rink will begin this month, which will consist of minimizing the space under the boards. However, we still need to replace broken boards in the west rink and we are looking for members of the community to assist us with this. If you are handy with a hammer, saw or tools in general, and would like to help us repair the rink, please contact president@whyteridge.ca or sign up for a volunteer time slot (or for more than one) at https://signup.com/go/kPYdate.
We would like to welcome PAL 55+ to our centre beginning in September. PAL 55+ will be offering programs for those aged 55+ out of the WRCC on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays. Please check their website at www.pal55plus.ca for further information.
WRCC Board meetings will begin in September. These meetings are scheduled for the 2nd Monday of every month beginning at 7 pm (see our Calendar) and we invite all community members to attend with ideas for our centre or concerns.
Please keep in mind that we need a new soccer Director and a new Mini-Soccer Director. If we don’t find volunteers, soccer is at risk of not taking place. If you or someone you know is interested, please contact soccer@whyteridge.ca for more information.
