Fall Badminton registration is on

Hello, all badminton players. As you may have heard we started a pilot program in the fall of 2020. Our plan was to engage the Manitoba Badminton Association to organize a skill-development camp at our local schools. Unfortunate, due to the covid situation we were not able to proceed with that and had to scale the program back significantly. Instead of school gyms, we used the community multi-purpose room which could barely fit all participants. We ended up breaking the players into 2 groups that were playing on different days and the classes ran September-October, then March-April. This was the only program that Whyte Ridge community centre was able to offer before past summer.

Our vision was always to grow this program into something, like basketball or even soccer, that would attract hundreds of players each year. Well, today we are one step closer to this dream. With the help of the Pembina Trails school division, we are expanding our pilot program which will be offered at Ralph Maybank school just 10 minutes east of Whyte Ridge. The facility has a modern and fully equipped gym with properly marked badminton courts. While we are still working out some details of the program we decided to open the registration now. The registration will be open till October 12 or while space is left.

Thank you,

WRCC Badminton.
