Summer Camps 2022 – Whyte Ridge Community Centre

Sport & Recreation Summer Camps for Kids – ages 6 -12

The Whyte Ridge Community Centre is excited to offer summer camps for children between the ages of 6 and 12. Camps will run for the following weeks from Monday to Friday, from 9am-4pm with before and after care (drop off as early as 8 am, pick up as late as 5pm). The camps will offer a variety of activities including sports, games, arts, crafts, science experiments and culinary arts. Costs are $140/week except for the holiday week (Aug 2-5, $110)

Week 1: July 4 – 8, 2022 Theme: Holidays in July

Week 2: July 11-15, 2022 Theme: Amazing Race

Week 3: July 25-29, 2022 Theme: Journey Across Canada

Week 4: Aug 2 – 5, 2022 (Short week, $110/week) Theme: A Galaxy Far, Far Away

RDT – Soccer Camp (August 8 – 12, 2022 and August 22 – 26, 2022)

RDT will be running two weeks of full day soccer camps for the summer of 2022. The two weeks are:

August 8 – 12, 2022 (ages 7-9)
August 22 – 26, 2022 (ages 9-12)

Send your child to Whyte Ridge Community Centre this Summer to play sports and learn in a fun, safe, and friendly learning environment. The goal is for children to improve their skills both technically and tactically as well as to build their confidence. We will focus not just on learning the skills of the game but also on developing the fundamental motor skills required for these young athletes to excel in sport.

This 5 day program takes place from 8:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. Early drop off will be available starting at 8:00 a.m. with late pick up until 5:00 p.m.

June Programs

Ultimate (aka ultimate frisbee) program!!

11 to 13 year old players (no experience required), intended for kids who are just completing grades 6 to 8

Cost: $65.00 + GST = $68.25 and a MODS Junior Membership ($10+GST = $10.50)

Location: Linden Ridge (71 Linden Ridge Dr)

Dates: Sunday’s from June 5th to July 24th (8 week program)

Times: 7:00pm to 8:30pm

STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Math; Coding) Program

From MyGym, STEAM stands for Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Math; Coding – and this program marries the best of My Gym’s games, relays, and physical fun with STEAM project-based learning! We supply all science and art equipment! No two classes are the same, as themes program change weekly. Created especially for children ages 4 through 11, this drop-off program is appropriate for any family looking to supplement their child’s education in a fun, engaging, and experiential learning environment.

We do require children 5 and older to wear masks, and to bring a water bottle with their name labelled.

MyGym KidsFlix and Play: MOVIE SING 2

We are hosting a special KidsFlix and Play so you can enjoy an evening without the kids! My Gym welcomes your children to a movie night with pizza and snacks! Drop off your child to enjoy a Movie and a special guest!

Best for children aged 3yrs 5mos to 11yrs 11mos

Doors open at 5:30pm, movie will start at 6:00 pm, children will enjoy activities and games in half the gym and the other half the movie will be shown. There will also be a special visit from one of the movie characters from Heather’s Pretty Party!
