NEW: Attention U9-U18 players

In September 2020 WSEU has introduced the new centralized location for all clubs and community centres in South Winnipeg. Below are the details on the new registration process. Your existing access code is still valid on the new registration form.

Players that want play specific teams should contact soccer conveners to make such request.

There is NO change for the mini-soccer players as they will continue to register via Whyte Ridge GoalLine site for the outdoor season.

How to register

To our Players, Coaches and Families

Whyte Ridge Community Centre (WRCC) and Winnipeg South End United (WSEU) are pleased to announce that registration for the 2020-21 recreational indoor soccer season is now open. Families of players wishing to participate in recreational soccer with their local Community Centre are now able to register for the indoor soccer season, which is expected to start October 29.

2020-21 Indoor Soccer Season

The 2020-21 indoor soccer season will follow a format that has been approved by Canada Soccer, Manitoba Soccer, Sport Manitoba, and our Provincial Health Authorities. The approved Manitoba Soccer Association Return-to-Participate (RTP) Plan includes guidelines and recommendations that are intended to keep our players, coaches, volunteers, their families and the community safe and healthy. You may review the RTP Plan in greater detail by clicking here.

Overview of Indoor Health and Safety Protocols

There are a few differences from the Outdoor RTP to the Indoor RTP related to Stage 3 that are of particular note:

  1. Coaches and players will be required to wear masks inside the facility until they are on the pitch area (field and technical areas). Masks being worn during training or games will be at the discretion of each player. During games, all technical officials must wear masks, except the one coach providing instructions to the players on the field.
  2. No spectators are permitted at adult competitions. A maximum of one guardian per youth player may attend at youth competitions. If guardians are staying at the facility, they must observe physical distancing regulations/guidelines. Any exception at youth games will be addressed by the facility staff.
  3. Face masks must be worn inside the facility when not on the pitch (field and technical areas). This includes for players and coaches before and after training or games and for all spectators at youth competitions (anyone over the age of 5).
  4. No loitering inside the facility (hallways, foyer) before or after training or games.
  5. No change rooms are to be used – participants should come dressed and ready to participate.
  6. Bathroom facilities will be sanitized before and after each booking  by authorized person only. Only one person should be in the bathroom at a time.
  7. Games will be scheduled to consider reducing traffic between groups arriving and departing to mitigate community transmission.
  8. It is possible that the majority of quarter field recreational matches will be played at the WSF North with a lesser number of matches played at WSF South due to the configuration and seating capacities of each facility.
  9. Timekeepers & Assistant Referees must wear face masks at all times.
  10. The facility is currently working on a mask-exemption policy for those with a doctor’s note. It is expected the person will need to register their exemption with the facility through the corresponding league. Further details on this will be communicated weeks prior to the start of the indoor season.

Practice Facilities

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, school gyms will NOT be available to Community Centres for indoor team practices. As a result, this indoor season will consist of scheduled league games only. If this situation changes, WRCC will notify you.

Registration Details

WRCC has worked closely with the WSEU District and the other District Community Centres to organize registration for the recreational indoor soccer season. The registration link below will direct you to a centralized online registration site that was prepared by the WSEU District for the Community Centres.

Registration fees for the 2020-21 recreational indoor soccer season have been set at $420.00 per player (U9 through U18).

Registration fees include a $50 assessment for the club, along with a $45 fee to cover Community Centre costs for delivering the soccer program. The registration fee also includes costs incurred by the WSEU District and WYSA for organization of league play, referees and insurance, along with assessments from Canada Soccer and Manitoba Soccer, who are responsible for sanctioning soccer in Canada and Manitoba. A large portion of the WYSA league fee relates to costs for the rental of indoor facilities for league games.

Please read and follow the instructions provided on the registration site carefully. Registration and payment are required for your child to be placed on a Community Centre soccer team. Contact the WSEU District Office Manager at 204-452-8020 or if you require additional information or have any problems with the online registration website.

Coaches and Volunteers

Children would not have the opportunity to learn and enjoy the game of soccer without enthusiastic and dedicated volunteer coaches to foster a safe, inclusive, energetic, positive and fun environment. Please consider volunteering as a Coach or Assistant Coach with your child’s team. There are plenty of resources available to help new coaches.
