Badminton

This season we have 2 classes available:

A beginner-intermediate level Youth and Adult program for ages 14+. Parents are welcome to join their youth in the class.

Location: Pacific Junction School
Mondays 8:00 pm – 9:30 pm
September 18 – December 18 (subject to change based on gym availability)
Cost: $120

A beginner-intermediate level Youth program for ages 10 – 14.

Location: Dalhousie School (262 Dalhousie Dr.)
Tuesdays 6:30 – 8:30 PM
September 19 – December 19 (subject to change based on gym availability)
Cost: $120

Volleyball

This skill development style program is done in partnership with Volleyball Manitoba. The program is designed to support the development of initiation-level volleyball programs in Manitoba. Our goal is to create opportunities to foster skill development through games and activities such as triple ball and smash ball.

Shotokan Karate Do Academy: Tiny tigers

Basic introductory karate classes are filled with games, exercise, and discipline.
Ages 4 – 7
Mondays 6:00 – 6:40 PM
Cost: $160 (Sept. 11 to Dec – includes uniform $50 value)
Returning students: $100

Sportball Multi-Sport for Pre-Schoolers (ages 16-24 months, 2-3.5 yrs)

Dates: September 16 – December 2 (10 classes)

Kids Kickboxing, presented by Dave’s Gym

This 6-week intro to kickboxing module will teach basic concepts of kickboxing, creating a strong fundamental base in self-defense techniques. Witness improvements in self-esteem, confidence and athletic ability in a fun, safe environment with qualified instructors.

Ages: 7-12
September 19th – December
Tues & Wed from 5-5:50pm and Friday 4:15-5pm18 – December 18 (subject to change based on gym availability)
Cost: $150 plus GST

Basic equipment needed: boxing gloves, shin guards, mouth guard (available for purchase).

Scouting

Scouting is a co-ed, youth focused organization which has been in Canada for over 100 years. For more information about the scouting programme or to register please visit www.scouts.ca, more more information about your local scout group please visit www.163rdwinnipegscouts.ca.

  • Beaver Scouts (ages 5-7) meet Thursdays 6:30 – 7:30 at Bairdmore School
  • Cub Scouts (ages 8-10) meet Thursdays 6:15 – 7:45 at Bonnycastle School
  • Scouts (ages 11-13) meet Mondays 7-9 at Bonnycastle School
  • Venture Scouts (ages 14-16) meet on Mondays time and location TBD
  • Rover Scouts (ages 17+) meet as time permits

Youth and adults can join at anytime. Let the adventure begin.

 


Girl guides

In Whyte Ridge, girls can start Guiding as young as 5 years old, as a Spark, or join anytime as a Brownie, Guide, Pathfinder or member of the Rangers.
