
We are currently hiring Facilities Attendants for the 2025 /2026 Winter season.

GENERAL DESCRIPTION: Under the supervision of the General Manager, this position is responsible for the completion of the daily tasks designed to ensure and maintain a safe and welcoming environment at the Whyte Ridge Community Centre. This position includes weekend, evening shifts.
Job functions will include the following:
Safety of Community Members
- Supervising activities on the rinks and in the community centre.
- Enforcing the City of Winnipeg and the WRCC Rules and Regulations.
- Understanding and implementing emergency procedures when needed.
- Handle all interactions with patrons with tact and patience and de-escalate any tense situations.
Administrative Function
- Offer excellent customer service to all patrons.
- Manage canteen sales.
- Process financial transactions accurately.
- Plan and provide special events.
- Problem-solve for solutions or ask for help when needed.
- Be informed about programs in our facilities and be able to clearly direct patrons.
- Look attentive and ready to engage, be professional at all times.
Facilities Function
- Participate in keeping all areas of the facility and property neat, and clean. Maintenance duties may include cleaning of the facility, removal of trash, snow shoveling.
- Helping with setting up and dismantling for various special events.
- Making sure all entrances are clear and free of debris.
- Select the appropriate methods for cleaning and organizing.
- Take initiative if you see something amiss or something that can be improved upon.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Over 18 years of age.
- 0-20 hrs/week, shifts range from Mondays – Friday 4:30pm – 10:00pm, Saturdays 10:00am – 8:30pm Sundays 12:00pm – 8:30pm.
- Must be able to work independently and in a team environment.
- Be on-time and reliable for scheduled shifts, provide reliable schedule with minimal last minute requests to change availability.
- Be professional, Skills and Experience.
- Self motivated.
- Strong problem-solving skills.
- Must be able to take direction from supervising staff.
- Must be able to assume a positive and active role at the centre, even while working under potentially stressful conditions (weather, upset or injured participants, etc.).
- CPR/AED/First Aid certification (or ability to obtain within 1 month)
Successful completion of a criminal and vulnerable sector checks and child
abuse registry check; and - Must be available to work evenings and weekends.

Contract Length: 4 months
