Thank you to all the 2023 Outdoor soccer participants! Our outdoor season wrapped up for mini soccer in June, and Youth soccer with playoffs in July. This was a unique year for Whyte Ridge Community Soccer, and we saw a record-breaking number of teams participating in our program. Mini soccer had 18 teams, and for youth soccer, we were joined by Lindenwood’s Community Center, due to a shortage of volunteers, and we had 18 teams participate. It was a great season, the U14 boys were WYSA’s Divisional winners, and the U17/U18 Girls received second place in the Cambrian Championship. Congratulations to all our teams and thank you to all our volunteers and coaches for helping us to have a successful season. Without you, there would be no season!
Indoor Soccer
Fall indoor soccer registration will open on September 8. This year WYSA has implemented a new registration system called RAMP which will hopefully make registration a smoother process.
Indoor recreational soccer runs from November 9th to March 17th. The season includes a game on Saturday (Girls) and Sunday (Boys) and a practice each week. Games will take place at WSF South & North between 8:00 AM-1:15 PM on Saturdays and Sundays.
If you have any questions please check our website for updated information on the indoor season, www.whyteridge.ca/sports/soccer/ or please reach out to soccerteam@whyteridge.ca.
Mini Soccer
We are actively looking for a Mini Soccer Director. This role includes organizing soccer for the U3-U8 age levels. The program runs from May through June, with registration kicking off in March. The program is organized in Whyte Ridge and is offered to children in the community. If you are interested in taking this on or sharing this role with another, please out to soccerteam@whyteridge.ca. Mini soccer has been a long-standing program in our community, however, without a director the program is not sustainable.
Survey
This August we sent out a survey to all participants in the soccer program. Thank you to those who took the time to complete the survey. If you participated in soccer this season and did not receive the survey you can find it HERE. The feedback we receive will help to build a better program for our community. If you see an area where you would like to volunteer, please let us know.
Thank you to the Whyte Ridge Community for your ongoing support of our soccer program. We are looking forward to an exciting indoor season!
