Facilities Attendant (Summer)
GENERAL JOB DESCRIPTION: Under the supervision of the General Manager & Assistant Manager, this position is responsible for the completion of the daily tasks designed to ensure and maintain a safe and welcoming environment at the Whyte Ridge Community Centre and its spray pad. This job includes weekdays, weekends, and evenings.
The job functions will include the following:
Safety of Community Members
- Supervising activities at the spray pad and in the community centre.
- Enforcing the City of Winnipeg and the WRCC Rules and Regulations.
- Understanding and implementing emergency procedures when needed.
Administrative Function
- Offer excellent customer service to all patrons. Greet customers with a smile and respond to their needs in a kind and courteous manner including when answering the phone.
- Sell canteen related items and process forms daily.
- Process all sales received accurately, using the square system.
- Plan and provide special events.
Facilities Function
- Participate in keeping all areas of the facility and property neat, clean and safe always. These duties include sweeping and mopping the MPR, foyer, washrooms and hallways, picking up trash and empty garbage bins, yard work such as lawn mowing, weeding etc.
- Helping with setting up and dismantling for various special events.
- Making sure all entrances are clear.
- Other duties as assigned
- Be available to work, days, evenings and weekends.
Qualifications
- Over 16 years of age
- Must be able to work in a team environment
- Must be able to take direction from the General Manager and Assistant Manager and can complete all tasks as assigned.
- Must be able to assume a positive and active role at the centre, even while working under potentially stressful conditions (weather, upset or injured participants, etc.).
- CPR/AED/First Aid certification (or ability to obtain within 1 month)
- Successful completion of a criminal and vulnerable sector checks and child abuse registry check.

Contract Length: 2 months
Salary: From $16 per hour
