Program Description

- Our badminton program is for children, youth and adults who want to learn basic skills of the game and to improve what they already know.
- The program is operated via Whyte Ridge Community Centre through permits provided by Pembina Trails School Division in the nearby school gyms. As a community user, we abide by all permit terms and conditions of school division. All parents should be familiar with these terms and conditions.
- Equipment requirements: Player must bring their own indoor shoes, sports clothes and badminton racket.
Spring 2026
Youth Program
- Tuesday (8 weeks) (6:15 PM section waitlist only)
Times: 6:15 PM and 7:35 PM starts
Ages: 10 – 14
Skill requirements: minimum badminton proficiency
Dates: April 7 14, 21, 28, May 5, 12, 19, 26
Location: Whyte Ridge Elementary (400 Scurfield Blvd.)
Price: $100
- Thursday (6 weeks)
Times: 6:15 PM start and 7:35 PM starts
Ages: 10 – 14
Skill requirements: minimum badminton proficiency
Dates: April 30, May 7, 14, 21, 28, June 4
Location: Whyte Ridge Elementary (400 Scurfield Blvd.)
Price: $75
Ages 14+ Program
- Monday (8 weeks)
Time: 8:15 – 9:45 pm
Ages: 14+
Skill requirements – must be proficient or confident to perform:

- Backhand service short
- Net shots, lifts, drives in forehand and backhand strokes
- Ample knowledge of Rules to play Singles and/or Doubles.
Dates: April 6, 13, 20, 27, May 4, 11, 25, June 1 (No session May 18)

Registration
To enter the registration system please select the Register Now button at the bottom of this page. If you do not already have accounts, you will be asked to create one for each child (or children) and yourself as parent or guardian. Please select the corresponding registration package for your child. Registration is not considered complete until payment has been made. If you have any questions regarding this program, please contact the WRCC Program Manager at programming@whyteridge.ca.
Payments
Payments can be made online via credit card or offline (e-transfer or cheque) by selecting Invoice during registration.
1. E-transfers
Please sign in to your online banking system and select INTERAC* payments/money transfers. Use payment@whyteridge.ca as payee and include the payment amount for the registration.
- Please add program name AND the player name(s) in the notes section.
2. Cheques
Cheques payable to WHYTE RIDGE COMMUNITY CENTRE can be dropped off in the Community Centre, 170 Fleetwood Road, Winnipeg, R3Y 1R3. Please email the Whyte Ridge treasurer at treasurer@whyteridge.ca, to make arrangements for in-person payment and receipt.
