As pandemic restrictions lift, festivals and carnivals returned to some normalcy and so did our annual “Summer Carnival”. This summer, fun-filled Summer Carnival event was successfully held at Whyteridge Community Centre premises.
The event witnessed great participation with people from multiple communities and different age groups including kids, teens, adults & elders. The key focus was to bring communities back together for celebration after a perennial pause due to pandemic.
Everyone was welcomed with a stunning balloon arch in the hallway and then there were sumptuous meals to fill bellies- Free Pizza, Hotdog & Burger, Bouncy castles & Zorb Balls for kids to blast and face painting to add a creative touch. Did I mention the unlimited Popcorns, Cotton Candy & umpteen on-the-go Energy Bars!
And a Carnival in Winnipeg (Crowned the Slurpee Capital of the World) is incomplete without Slurpee. No surprise with the never ending queues at Slurpee truck and kids excitement with slurpee tongue was fun to watch!
Last but not the least, audience was wowed with a magic show as climax! The event was a grand success and attended by hundreds of people.
Sincere Thanks to our sponsors, volunteers, WRCC Community Board and everyone who made time to visit & enjoyed the event together!
Special Thanks to Micaela Mayhew, who took on the initiative of organizing and planning the event as well as Fabio Capone, Mike Duong & Obby Khan, MLA for Fort Whyte, Nupur Kumari for Communications & Photography, Janice Lukes, Councillor for Waverley West Ward who attended and also supported the event and Winnipeg Police for keeping us safe!
