Trends in home décor and design are like fashion—they come and go. In the end, it’s all about how you use them because your home should be a reflection of you.
For 2025, my top three home décor trends are:
- Colour
- Wood Tones
- Generational Blend
- Colour – Warmer Neutrals & Jewel-Tone Greens
Warmer neutrals are IN! That boring beige from the early 2000s? It’s out. Instead, we’re seeing updated beiges mixed with grays, yellows, and browns. All you have to do is pick your favorite.
Green is THE color trend this year. And let’s be honest, it’s been creeping into design for a while now. Not just any green—jewel-tone greens!
Now, before you start painting every wall in your house green (unless you’re super brave, super trendy, and don’t mind repainting later), here are some easier ways to bring this color into your space:
- Tiles: Try a gorgeous glass backsplash in the kitchen, bathroom, or even a beverage center.
- Walls: A feature wall in a home office, mudroom, or laundry room adds just the right pop.
- Cabinets: Paint your pantry, island, or bookcase—so many possibilities!
My go-to green for these projects? Regent Green 21136-20 by Benjamin Moore.
- Natural Wood – Cozy, Warm, and Timeless
I am OBSESSED with this trend.
Bringing in natural wood instantly makes a home feel stylish, warm, and inviting. Walnut and chestnut are the IT wood tones for 2025—they naturally add richness and depth to any space.
Of course, new wood or luxury vinyl flooring is an easy way to embrace this trend, but if that’s not in the budget, try these ideas:
- Cabinets & Shelves: Mix wood with painted finishes for a curated look.
- Countertops: Yes, wood countertops are a thing! They’re durable, functional, and absolutely gorgeous.
- Feature Walls & Headboards: Wood panels are available in all shapes and sizes, with some even offering soundproofing—stylish AND practical.
- Generational Blend – Mixing the Old with the New
This trend is all about balance. Mixing vintage pieces with modern elements creates a space that’s unique, personal, and full of character.
Now is the time to dust off that beautiful old server, desk, or heirloom piece and make it shine. With a little refinishing or creative placement, you can blend it seamlessly with your current décor.
