The days are getting shorter, the nights are getting cooler, and soon the leaves will start to turn colour. Not only do we start to turn our attention to the kids returning to school, but also to Fall programming at Whyte Ridge Community Centre!
There are some favourites back for Fall as well as some new options.
For the kids, there is a variety of activities to keep them active, healthy and involved with their friends.
WYSA Indoor Soccer registration is now open until September 28th for U11 to U18. The season runs from the beginning of November to mid-March (plus playoffs for the older groups). Visit https://whyteridge.ca/sports/soccer/youth-indoor-soccer/ for more information and to register!
The WMBA Community Centre League is a citywide basketball league for kids from ages 7 to 18. The WMBA operates the Fall/Winter League from October through March. Visit https://whyteridge.ca/sports/basketball/ or visit https://wmba.ca directly for more information and to register. The registration deadline is September 18th, so don’t miss out.
Sections for Volleyball Manitoba’s Fall Community Youth Volleyball Program are available for U10 and U12 (both co-ed), and U14 and U16. Registration is off to a great start, so visit https://whyteridge.ca/sports/volleyball/ for more information and to register.
Badminton registration in partnership with Badminton Manitoba is now open, and our Youth sections are filling up fast. Spots are still available for Youth and 14 +. Visit https://whyteridge.ca/sports/badminton/ for more information and to register.
We’re continuing our adult fitness programming for Winter as well! Back from the Fall are favourites like Essential Pilates, Line Dancing and Restorative Yoga. Building on the popular Salsa and Bachata class last winter and spring, we are adding Intermediate Salsa On1/Rueda de Casino. More information and links to registration are available at https://whyteridge.ca/activities/classes/. Don’t worry, the introductory level Salsa and Bachata, and a new Line Dance Level 2 should be on the schedule for Winter!
Are you looking for something on the artistic side for your kids? Join our Arts For Kids class with Fleur Franz. A great Saturday afternoon
activity, visit https://whyteridge.ca/activities/children/ for more information and to register.

The community centre will continue to host our English as a Second Language (ESL) Conversation Circle (free). More details are available at https://whyteridge.ca/adult-day-programming/. This is a great opportunity to improve your language skills and even make some friends!
We are working hard on creating our special events to get everyone out during the Fall and Winter months. Be sure to keep an early eye out for information about our Winter Carnival scheduled in mid-January, which promises to be a great afternoon for all. You can also look for registration information coming soon for these great evening events:
- Our always popular Quiz Night at the end of January (so start putting your team of 8 together!)
- Our third annual Wines of the World event scheduled for March (yes, we are partnering with Calabria Market again this year!)
- The always fun Paint Night events throughout the year.
So there is a lot planned to keep you active this Fall and to give you a chance to spend time with your neighbours.
We can’t wait to see you!
